Deauville

Deauville is the new collection of patterns that I designed for Néobulle a company that produces baby wraps. All jacquard woven in cotton in the Loire region in France.
The collections is based on the childhood memories of long and happy summers at the beach. The soft sound of the waves, the laughter, sand castles, long beach walks and swimming in the sea.
Deauville also evokes the Roaring Twenties that attracted creative like Gabrielle Chanel (Coco Chanel) and Charlie Chaplin. The collection is a tribute to this soft atmosphere of femininity and pays tribute to the 'grand flâneurs.
You can have a look on the webshop of Néobulle for more information

Behind the scene, choosing colours for the new collection. And the the weaving machine that is producing the Charlie pattern.

Jardin de Babylone - Window display

For the lovely flower shop Jardin de Babylone in Saint-Etienne I have printed 4 illustrations on a very large poster scale. They used them for there window display and measure 120x150 cm. The 4 Hipsters matched very well with the Fathers day on June 19.
Two weeks later there is only one poster left and a girll- hipster was demanded. And really this bearded man drawing just started as an assignment drawing lumberjacks, I never thought of drawing man before. The assignment was part of the Boot-camp course of the 'Make art that sells' website from Lilla Rogers. What started as 'oh no not men' became an overflow of bearded man and now I will start a collection of girls with swirly hairstyles.

A Flower a Day.

During the month of May I have given myself a challenge to draw a flower a day. Just with a pencil and a fine-liner. It showed me how important it is to keep on drawing every day and opend up the mind and gave me new idea for coming projects.
A small impression of the the project for all the images you can visit my instagram account here
